Seventy percent of new business
Three LinkedIn posts from the CEO of Spot AI, thirteen months apart, track video agents from a hashtag on a record-quarter note to the reason the company rebuilt how it sells.

Companies rarely publish their product mix. Founders who post in public do, in fragments, and if you line the fragments up you can sometimes watch a category change shape. Three posts from Rish Gupta, the CEO of Spot AI, between February 2025 and March 2026 do that for video agents. Read in order, they say something specific about how quickly the agents went from a feature to the business.
February 2025: a hashtag on a growth note
Spot AI launched its Video AI Agents in the autumn of 2024. On February 11, 2025, Gupta posted a quarterly note that is mostly about size:
Spot AI just had its largest quarter till date. We are gearing up for another record quarter with our average customer being 200% larger than a year ago.
The body of the post does not mention agents. They appear only in the hashtag at the end, #VideoAIAgents, the earliest use of it we could find on his feed. The rest of the post is about a side effect of larger customers, that "sharing their success stories with others require more internal approvals and more hoops to jump for our customers," and his workaround: "We share the impact and direct quotes from them while preserving anonymity."
At this point the agent product was about four months old. It appears only as a tag, and the growth being reported is attributed to customer size.
September 2025: a share of new business
Seven months later, on September 29, Gupta published a longer post about decision-making at the company. Its subject is a Sherlock Holmes quotation, but the paragraph about 2024 carries a number:
In 2024 - when everyone was busy launching peripheral accessories like sensors and access control, the improbable path was to bet on humans won’t watch videos - AI will.
Now agents business constitutes 70 percent of new business and every competitor is trying to catch up and launch.
The same post gives the scale behind it: "Today, Spot AI processes billions of hours of video with software that works across cameras, trailers and more."
Seventy percent of new business, ten months after launch, is the figure that turns "we have an agents feature" into "we are an agents company." It is a founder's number in a founder's post, with no definition of new business attached, and readers should weigh it that way. It is also the only public, dated figure of its kind I have seen from a video AI vendor.
March 2026: the business model follows
The third post, on March 25, 2026, was written from ISC West, and it is the one where the product change forces a commercial change. Gupta announced three things:
1) We just announced at ISC West that we are going 100% channel on May 1st.
Every deal. No exceptions.
This is a permanent, structural shift in how we build and scale this company.
The second item was a $2 million equity pool for partners, the Physical AI Partner Council, on the reasoning that "System Integrators and Partners are going to evolve to AI partners and AI implementation teams for Customers." The third was the product line itself: "we’re evolving from Video AI Agents → full AI coworkers for the physical world. Not point solutions. Not features. But full on AI co-workers for security teams and operations team in industrial economy."
The press release that accompanied the announcement put the shift in a table. Before: "Cameras capture data for analytics." 2024: "Video AI Agents complete discrete tasks." 2026: "Cameras act as coworkers across full workflows."
What the sequence shows
Set the three posts side by side and the interval is thirteen months. In the first, agents are a hashtag. In the second, they are most of what the company sells to new customers. In the third, the company has reorganised its sales motion around the assumption that installing and tuning them is a partner's job, and has started calling them something else.
A few cautions. All three are the company's own account, and none is audited. The 70 percent figure has no denominator. The channel decision has other plausible drivers, including the cost of a direct sales team, that the post does not discuss. What the sequence does establish is a rate: feature, to majority of new business, to structural reorganisation, in a little over a year. The March post ends with "Let's go build the Physical AI era." The February post, thirteen months earlier, had not used the word agent outside a hashtag.
